Our Purpose

We are defined by our purpose and not by the actual services we have to offer. This is important to us as it allows us to exercise our creative genes and thrive in a time of change and uncertainty.

Our founder and director, Thando Hadebe, started her legal career whilst she was still in her matric year. Fuelled by passion, at the time she was unaware that this was infact the start of her legal career. She started her career out of passion for the neglected inmates in correctional services by volunteering herself in providing biblical programmes to inmates inside correctional services. Thereafter she progressed to recording the behaviour and improvement in behaviour of inmates in a file which was utilised by the department. In addition, she advanced her services to look at ways in which inmates would live and survive outside of prison, which sparked a variety of skills development such as doing nails, hair, artwork, knitting just to name a few. This initiative grew to items which are today made and sold by inmates and a successful rehabilitation program. Having had formed close relations with the inmates, some expressed how they would like to first be accompanied to the homes of people they had violated in order to apologise, prior to their release. This again initiated a number of mediation remedies, as well as encouraged inmates to attempt to provide closure to the victims and families they had violated, by apologising. This further developed apology letters as mediums for families and victims who preferred them. This is amongst many other things.

This was, the birth of our purpose, although unknown to us at the time. Our purpose is to be creative in the services which we provide. The creativity is in us and allows us to adapt to changes and reinvent ourselves to be responsive to the circumstances. The importance of purpose and creativity has especially been highlighted during the covid era, where purpose instead of the actual service has lead some companies to rather produce sanitizers instead of alcohol, due to the decline and prohibition of alcohol sales.

Our director has worked with a leading bank, for which an award for best law firm was won, as she managed to help both the bank and the client. Through creative purpose, our director managed to help indebted clients by providing alternative solutions to their indebtedness, which resulted in repayments, resulting in both the bank and the client being happy.
